Marlboro Babe Ruth Baseball helps run a very successful Fall League designed for players to work on baseball fundamentals by providing players a loosely competitive game atmosphere. Games usually start the second week of September and run through the end of October. Teams usually play a 12 game season and games are played on Saturdays and Sundays only. Standings are not kept for this league. Dual participation is allowed, so if a player also plays another sport, we have enough players on the teams to offset any absences.
There will be two levels of play for Fall Babe Ruth Baseball. The Prep division consists of players who are league age 12 and 13. The Jr. Babe Division consists of players who are league age 14, 15 and 16.
Babe Ruth Prep
This league is made up of players who are league age 12 and 13. This league is designed to introduce younger players to the rules and fundamentals associated with the regulation size baseball field. It is also great experience for players who intend to play baseball for Middle School teams in the spring.(See the link to the age chart below)
Jr. Babe Ruth
This league is made up of players who are league age 14, 15 and 16. (See the link to the age chart below) This league is designed to provide more game experience for players who want to improve their all-around baseball skills. This is a great opportunity for players to work on skills they did not master in spring or summer or to practice a position they did not get much time playing in the summer. It is also great experience for players who intend to play baseball for High School teams in the spring.
Teams will be made up from many neighboring towns and we try to balance the games so each team has an equal number of home and away games. Away games are usually no more than a 15 – 20 minute drive from Marlboro.
Early on in the season or before the season starts, there may be some practices scheduled during weeknights.
