The Summer Minuteman League Registration is now OPEN
Who is Eligible? All Babe Ruth players league age 13 through 16 who are not on a Lou Tompkins or Summer Sr. Babe Ruth team. Don't delay, spots will fill very fast.....
The Summer Minuteman League (ages 13 – 16 as of April 30th of the current year) begins the week of June 19th. The season is 6 weeks long with 2 games per week, ending on July 27th. Minuteman League games are only played Monday thru Thursday. The single elimination playoffs will take place the following week with the championship game on August 5th (weather permitting).
The Minuteman League is comprised of teams from towns close to Marlboro. Players who do not make the Sr. Babe Ruth or Lou Tompkins teams can participate in this league. The Minuteman League will require much less travel, and is better suited for players who wish to play in a less competitive and more informal level of play, than Lou Tompkins or Sr. Babe Ruth. There are no try-outs for this league unless we have too many players to fit on a team. The team’s roster may include a few players who are league age 16, but those 16 year old players are not allowed to pitch. If you are 16, and are interested in playing, please contact Mike Daly and he will explain the process.
Registration: Players are placed on teams on a first come first served basis, based on when we receive your registration and payment. Ideally we hope for an even number of players at each age level, for example; five 13 year old players, five 14 year old players, five 15 year old players and two 16 year old players for each team. If we don’t have those exact numbers we will take more kids at either of those age levels.
To register, simply CLICK HERE. If registration is full for one team, we will put players on a waiting list to see if we can get a manager and enough players for a second team. If we don’t have enough Marlboro players to form a second team, we may allow players from other towns to join the team. We don’t want to turn players away for summer baseball, so we will do our very best to make sure your child gets on a team.
Registration Fee: $135 per player
The registration fee covers tournament fees, scheduling fees, umpires, insurance, equipment, baseballs, uniforms, and field maintenance. This league is 100% funded by the registration fees collected. Registration fee scholarships are very limited for this league, since the cost of playing is higher than our spring league.
Games and Practices: Minuteman games are only played weekdays, Monday thru Thursday and all games will start at 5:45 p.m. Teams can expect to play a “regular season” of 12 games. Coaches will try to hold a weekly practice when weather and field usage permits.
